I would like to also say be the BLANK careful with day old coals. I regularly grab coals with my hands to separate from the ash and after roughly 28 hours did not think about it and lets just say the neighbors know I am a moron. Now I have wired my ring to my grate and added a 18.5 Q coal grate at a 90 degree angle to let me shake em off and separate them. I then usually dump the burnt but used coals in my aussie grill for use with burgers or brats, they also get used when my coals are dying and I need some extra oomph. Stuff that I use on the grill usually only get used back on the grill because of the drippings. That is just my choice no real evidence to support other wise.
