Bitcoin is FAR from defunct. It's not all over the news, but it's still alive and kicking.

It is shocking how much mining computational power has increased. Not even a year ago, what was the network hash rate, like 70T/s? Now it is 70,000! Glad I got my 2 bit cents back when it was easy.

Yeah it is pretty crazy now. That shed has about 5.4 th/s of computing power.
