I can't find it, but I think I already posted somewhere here that we have a traditional NY day dinner of Pork, Sauerkraut and Dumplings.

Does anyone else have a traditional NY dinner?

One of our go-to dinners....

Smoked rib roast (salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder)
Giada De Laurentiis' decadent mashed potato casserole (loaded with bacon, cheddar, mozzarella, parmesan cheese, butter & heavy cream, and a little parsley)
Mom's knot rolls (a mildly sweet dinner roll)
Roast parsnips, rutabaga & carrots (olive oil, salt & pepper)
Probably a green salad.

We've arranged for an air drop to friends of ours here. His life for the last year+ has been miserable with health issues. We had planned on dinner together, but he came down with the flu last week, and his doc said "not a good idea."

We've been told that they're both stuffed, and that he ate more than he had in the last 2 weeks. I'll take that as a win.

Well, I am stuffed and we have a s**t load of dumplings left over. That is good, because we cube them up and scramble eggs with them. We' will get a lot of good breakfasts from them.
OK, I shouldn't admit this but, 1:49 PM and we just finished breakfast. Yes, the first of the dumpling and eggs.

Might as well keep this site going for awhile. DH told me what he is making for dinner tonight, but, I forget  I would ask him but, he is off to the store getting the stuff for it.
Hope you know what YOU are having for dinner.:giggle:

New Year's eve, steamed up some hot dogs and made a couple Chicago style dogs. No cooking yesterday. Ordered large tray of Italian beef from one of my favorite shops (Countryside Meats and Deli) here in Rockford. For the 98th B/Day party for the old man. At his assisted living facility. Had a pretty decent crowd.

OK DH is making us Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches for dinner tonight. Will post picture if I remember.

We are having an easy dinner night.
The wife is craving BLT sammies.
To tell ya the truth I am too.
The Blackstone makes quick work of the beacon so that adds to the “easy”.
We sometimes have sandwiches for dinner, some times it’s meat sometimes it’s egg salad.
The easiness is an important ingredient.
