wet and cold weather operation

hi all, i was planning to smoke a turkey on thanksgiving on my wsm18, but the forecast is calling for rain with temps in the high 30's to mid 40's. not sure about the wind.

i was thinking of using a full (lit) chimney of KBB and then another full chimney of lump (unlit) on top.

any thoughts on whether this amount of fuel and these outdoor temps will be adequate. could i just use KBB?

i have not done a turkey before, and only have about 6-7 cooks on my wsm18.

i thought i saw a thread for cold/wet weather operation, but couldn't locate it

thanks

I would dump lit on-top of unlit, in cold conditions going the other way smothers the fire.
Me, I would load the ring with whatever coal you like and add a fully lit chimney on top and let it rip.
And good luck on your first turkey:wsm:

Thank you gentleman.

Looking at the link bob posted got the gears turning on a windscreen.

I have been playing around with how much fuel I've using, and even tried a short cook using my recycled briquettes. I was gonna gent some lump on the way home tonight, but will stick with KBB
