Well, the scrap(p)er didn't get this one.

Thanks to the challenge thrown down by @Eric-NH and favor from @TomRc, the mystery is solved.

As @Josh Dekubber surmised, it is a Charmglow; Charm Host model SNR. The bones are in exceptional condition, bowl and lid are cast Aluminum, grates are poor, burner is a replacement (original was CI), but looks like it will still work. Replacment burners are still available. This model used some type of solid briquets (there is a smaller grate above the burner to hold them). Top grate is 21" diameter; the grate from my 22" Kettle grill (actual 21.5") fits, but not on the "shelves" cast into the bowl- just a little higher.
Near as I can tell, it's early 60s. I've reached out to Charmglow (now supported by MHP) for any information. No serial number evident. For now, it will go into hiding (from the wife). First pic is top of cover- this lettering is cast in.

I'll have the time to take a few better photos tomorrow (after the wife goes to work).
The MHP site has pictures of a similar 1960 grill, but made of steel sheet metal. No reference to the SNR model. https://mhpgrills.com/about-us/#:~:text=of our business.-,Our History,Endure The Test Of Time
BBQParts dot com mentions the SNR, but no parts available as of 10 years ago:

Ralph, I might be able to help you with a round grate the right size. I need to go measure.

I knew right away that I was making the right decision to step out of the P1 position and reach out to @Ralph on this. It saved me from having to drive 3.5hrs each way in suspect weather to pick it up and I now get to watch someone else do the rehab work from the comfort of my easy chair instead. Looking forward to keeping tabs on the progress of the project while knowing it’s in good hands! If there’s anything I can contribute, please let me know. I have a MHP dealer account that I haven’t used more than once or twice in the last decade but it’s there if needed.
