WeberQ 1200 Cart

Your input will be greatly appreciated on a possible purchase at a Weber Costa Rican Dealership at a “Whopping” cost of $170. Also thinking of grilling it on my Weber Performer Deluxe Table or purchasing a small table for my WeberQ 1200. I will not be grilling with this grill outside my home and just want to park-it on a somewhat permanent station to be readily available for quick grilling sessions.

Richard, I use my Q1200 primarily as you do-I have the original style cart which I think is a bit more stable than the newer style. But-if I didn't have the cart I would probably opt for a good sturdy side table to mount it on. You're right, those new carts are expensive! As an added note, I have seen a few other carts that look like they'd work out, but only if I had a real need for mobility which I don't. A good solid table would probably work just as well for me.

BobH and BPratt; many thanx for your input and my need for a mobile cart is a big Non-factor. My plan at the moment is to grill on my Performer while looking about for a suitable small table.

Question, can I place and grill on the WeberQ 1200 on a wooden or plastic table??

There is a good sized air gap between the firebox and a table. The catch pan should reflect heat back toward the firebox.

I used a Q2000 on the tailgate of my truck without any issues

Richard, I grill and have grilled with my Q on a wooden table on my deck for years. I have even left the grill on high over night a couple times.
