Weber Slide Aside Lid Holder

Seems to me my old kettle (from the 80's) had a hook in the lid that you hung the lid on the side of the kettle. I'm guessing they quit the hook inside so they could sell you that hanger

Yep the under lid hook is still there but you have to be really careful and make sure it's engaged before you let go.
Not for the impatient.

I'm not sure what the best solution is.
Every once in a while I get the urge to throw down for the Unknown Hinge 2-pack.

I just bought a kettle (Tony) and I'm waiting for my Comal for it. When I put it together, I didn't even look to see if the hook was there. I have to say one thing, this new kettle is nothing like my old one. The new one feel "flimzy" compared to my old one. I wish I still had it, but I got caught up in the propane rage, and thought I'd never go charcoal again.

Now I have a couple Q's that haven't been used much. I'm tempted to off them, but I don't want to repeat my mistake from my old kettle (getting rid of something I wish I hadn't)

I'd hang onto the Q especially if it's the 100 size for camping and for a quick grilling solution.
I have a Kenmore table top gasser that I use in that role.
