Weber Performer Table Question

I picked up a Weber Performer for cheap and I'm trying to figure out what to do with the cracked table. It cracked at the screw like everyone says it does from people lifting it up by the table to move it.. I called Weber and they want $65.00 plus tax and shipping for it, I only paid $65 for the grill so I'm trying to figure out what my best replacement options are.. These are my thoughts:

1. I have seen some nice homemade wooden replacement table that I think look great and could do myself
2. I could just buy it from Weber
3. Post on the forum and get ideas on what I should do!?

What are your thoughts?? :Thanks for all replies in advance!!!!

If I had an older Performer where the table gave-out - I would think about making my own, but I would make it functional / built-to-last.
Something like:

Make some spacers or offset plates to fasten to the rails - then bolt whatever top material to the brackets from the underside (no more exposed fasteners).
Options in this case could include:
-Mold a polished concrete top impregnated with a good, high-quality sealer
-Tile or stone tile (maybe a colorful mozaic or border with mozaic tile to match my "outdoor decor")
-If it gets stored indoors / covered - make a clear resin top poured over some fun family / hobby stuff like fishing lures or pennies
-Cut-down a large, commercial-grade Poly Cutting Board and shape it to fit

Oh, and REINFORCE the "Handle" end of the cart, so that the loose top / strain on the fasteners will NEVER happen again

The Sky's the limit, dude!

Timmy, I don't photobucket but, PM me with your email and I will send you pictures of what I did. Or if you can enlarge the picture in my avatar you can get an idea.
I installed much larger wheels to raise the working height to accommodate my 6'+ stature.

A piece of counter top would work.
Another thought would be to obtain an old gasser that's on a cart and repurpose the cart.
