The more I think about it, the more I regret leaving that set of 9930's on the Jack Daniels grill when I sold it. Yeah, I've got more of them but that was a three piece set for the smoker box and I've never seen another set like it. View attachment 123118
I know that you already know this, Steve, but just for observation, you could do the same to a regular set, if the need came up. Just cut-off wheel in two places. I did it on a 300 I sold because I wanted the removable GBS section to center over the "sear" section like it should have. I had to cut in three places because of the center support:

It worked out nice, because the small piece made a perfect place to install an non-OEM smoker box:

That is kind of what I want to do on my forever grill. I personally like the smoker boxes on the OG deep cookboxes, but I am wanting to modify the original steam n chips box to work with a silver cookbox. And come up with a way to not necessarily hinge them, but to link them so they can be flipped up out of the way.
If I can find a heavy enough SS chain link that would fit around the grates, I can notch and bend it, just inside the outer supports on each side, then bend it back and weld it on the bottom it would allow the smaller grate to be flipped to access the box.

I know, there is a lot of "meh" feelings of the internal smoke boxes on this site, but I have had great results on my 330, and F it, I like it! lol
