Weber Parts Deals

I did open the second one that I got. I did not see any "touch ups", but there were a few places where it looked like there was some kind of debris on the pan before it was porcelain coated. I get the impression these pans are not the highest quality overall, but for the price, they are not a bad deal.

I guess this explains it:

I'm glad you got a good one there. It would never cross my mind that it was made anywhere else but China. Interesting that that label also has Weber #7515 on it, which is the number of the little drip tray and bracket that hangs from the big one.

Yah, like a lot of products on Amazon, I think they do that to "mislead" people. I think they get away with it by saying they just put that in the title or description to identify what part it replaces on a Weber grill. And to be fair, Weber does have some of their stuff produced in China, however, I think they still built with higher level of quality standards.

I think I'm going to stick with a genuine Weber #99250 drip tray for my situation. I will put the new one in my nice Gold C and put it's tray on the one I'm resurrecting, which is still in nice shape.

For some reason, I was thinking what @Bruce said was related to the 13 bar box drip pan. Then I thought more about it knowing he said he’s moved on from the deep boxes, then I read it again. That being said, I’m going to open my box. I took this pic because you can clearly see it’s been taped over old tape.

I’ll post again in a few after I inspect it.

Well, the actual pan looked fine… I’ll inspect it further in the natural light tomorrow. The other stuff, didn’t fare as well 🤣

Oh jeez, that's annoying. Yes, the big tray looks ok but the finish is definitely not as good as on a factory tray. Good enough for flips, not good enough for a personal grill in my opinion.

I got confused about that for a minute too.

Has anyone had a SS drip tray made?
I don't think so. It's been talked about though. Just the way they are made is a huge roadblock to doing it. There was someone selling a Genesis 1000 drip tray on eBay that was made by welding all the individual panels together and it looked terrible. You would have to have an enormous machine to stamp them out of a single piece of metal and punch out the holes.

I have a couple brand new sets I would sell you for $20 each. One is real Weber grates too.
I will have to think on that... I have a front control spirit that I have thought about putting stamped ones into... I got the burners and bars for it during one of the prime days things for like $15 or $20, if I could have all the parts for it under $40 would make it a profitable flip!

Yes, the early spirits did. Up until about 2010 or something. Before they went to spirits with SS shelves.
