The inside of the oldies were made with porcelain. Therefore, with about an hour's worth of effort and a steel wool pad, they can be brought back to original condition. Wayne, you can probably scrub right through the layer of paint you put on. Get some burly steel wool for the first pass, like this: https://www.therestaurantstore.com/items/60227 Good luck!

No no...referring to the Genesis 2, the cast aluminum firebox was painted black on the outside and I believe was unpainted on the inside. The bottom tray and drip pan under the firebox were porcelain enamel on steel. The lid was porcelain enamel on steel inside and out with painted end caps.
