Weber Family Portraits

Well, strangely enough there was a team about 100 feet to the right in the picture that wants to move up to a bigger hauler. He's selling DIRT cheap. With any luck at all I'll be picking it up in the next 2-3 weeks.

New member to the family. Neighbor was moving and going to throw grill away. Of course I wouldn't allow that, so after many hours and about $150 in new parts here she is.

I wish I had taken a before picture as it was a dirty and rusted out mess. I hadn't welded in over 20 years but managed to weld in a new section on the left side that was completely rusted out. Weber had new right sides in stock which made things much easier. Fun project!

I hope the pictures come through. Dan

I picked up my 2nd 26" one-touch off craigslist today for - get this - $20. Definitely my best score to date. Thought I'd post my collection.... still haven't cleaned up the new(old)26" - it's in the foreground - pretty good shape with minimal rust - now I've got bookend 26ers...

I am finding that I may have to add a 26" to my wish list as I could not get three cedar planks on my 22" last weekend. But 2 would be great, especially at $20!

George.. I'll take some close ups tomorrow (it's dark...lol)...

I use my 22's almost daily. I'm 6'2" and bending over the grills became a big problem about 3 years ago when I was diagnosed with Degenerative disk desease. There was NO WAY I was giving up my grilling so I got to thinking and put the grills up on cinder blocks and they were perfect.... Was looking for a more permanent solution when I happened to be in Lowes in the shower section. Lowe and behold there was the answer!

I bought two shower curtain rods that are the same diameter and thickness as the original legs... I measured the legs and added 8" to match the cinder blocks.

I flattened the ends where the wheels go,drilled a hole for the rod but didn't take into account that by lengthing the legs they were spread out farther!...lol... Wanted to support it better so back to Lowes for one more rod, two wooden dowls and four lag screws to hold the wheels on.....

All in all I've got maybe $20 tied up in the legs mods and no more back problems while grilling.

I finally finished my CL restore from April.
It is now a 1998/2010 SS Performer.
New parts include,
all new stainless steel hardware,
all 4 wheels, the ash catcher and sweeper,
and ofcourse the bowl and lid.
The frame was disassembled, sanded and painted with Rustolium 1200deg semi-gloss. I was going to use Appliance Epoxy but did not like how it was going on. Now to get this girl dirty!
