Weber E-330 first cook....

Ok; I am a LONG time charcoal guy. Got a Performer and a bunch of kettles to show for that devotion too!

Yesterday I was at a friend's house and he bought some beautiful ribeyes for the few of us that came over. We watched a little football and got in some ping pong too! Anyway, he asked me to cook these steaks on his 330 and I must say the result was outstanding! Beautiful sear on the outside and a wonderful med. rare throughout as I finished them with the grill turned off and used the residual heat for indirect.

I'm sold on Weber's gas grills and have never cooked on one before. Scary. I'm thinking that I'll probably be looking to add one of these to the collection soon. :)

I love my E310. It has been awesome for 4 years and you can cook anything on there. The 330 would be that much better with the sear station and side burner. Spend a few extra dollars and get the EP version. It has the stainless steel internals which will last longer. Let us know what you get and please post pics.

I want a weber gas grill also. Can't get one until my charbroil dies. It's been running strong for 5 years but it's probably because I don't use it as often. :o

I love my Performer, but there are just times when a gas grill is sooooo nice to have that I ended up getting a Genesis EP-330 a few weeks ago, been cooking like crazy on it and especially love doing breakfast now (with the Little Griddle Sizzle Q).

I passed my rusting Charbroil onto my nephew and bought an EP 330 2 years ago and haven't looked back. It's a joy to use. Stop waiting!;)

I do this too. I have the sizzle que and use my gasser for breakfast. And Pete there are just times when the gasser is calling your name and you have to put the kettle aside. Nothing wrong with that.

Nice breakfast cook Chris! Yep; that's a bit easier to do on the gasser for sure.

Thank you all for the responses. I will probably make the leap this upcoming spring. Got a few projects and things before then to get done. Also, I'm leaning toward running a natural gas line out the back of the house - there's a capped T I can use to do this. If I were to choose today, I'll probably go with the Summit S-470. Bigger than the Genesis and I'll use the rotisserie quite a bit.

I would go the NG route. It is much cheaper per btu. The only issue I have with the 470 is part of the surface area is taken up by the smoker box. The grate space is actually smaller than a 330. I have the rotisserie attachment for the genny and it works great. I have the griddle that replaces the grate and it is my favorite accessory. If you wait until next year you can get the awesome crimson color.
