Weber Cust Service

I just had to let you guys & gals know how (surprisingly) happy I am with Weber. The dampers on my WSM are loose. They had been since I got it. A friend was over and pointed it out (I didn't know. I had nothing to compare it to). I fired off a (nice) email to Weber expecting them to send me the replacements. Instead, I'm getting a new Charcoal Bowl! Now if they would just make a bigger WSM.

Good for you. Now you can use one bowl to smoke and one in which to wash your dog

I had a similar experience with my Genesis in that the bottom half had a hole rust in the side after about 5 years. I called Weber to ask about buying a new one and they explained to me that the bottom half was still covered under warranty and they shipped me a new bottom half free of charge. It is really hard to top Weber product customer service.

Based on my years of reading here, I would be surprised if they wanted the defective bowl back. It'll just cost them more money to ship something back that isn't worth anything. More than likely you'll get to keep it.

I ordered a Performer from an Open Box Reseller on ebay - Seller stated that it was unused but the bottom of the kettle had a dent.

I tried to buy a new bottom from Weber but they refused my money and sent me a new one for free - they didn't want the old one back either!

If thats true that would be great 'cause then I would have a place to put the chimney while I start my coals immediately next to the WSM istead of having to move them from the grill surface (Its about 10' away but I always seem to lose one red hot coal and burn my deck boards).
