I bought the Weber Dual-Sided Sear Grate at ACE Hardware, and I am impressed with the grill marks and the cooking surface. Can't wait and try the sear grate on some steaks!
Instead of buying the Weber Crafted Frame Kit, I placed the sear grate on my existing grates.
Wow! That new grate is a "big" improvement over the old GBS round one that maybe would fit 4 burgers on a good day. I think it is a really cool add-on for your SmokeFire .
Jon - I can't get over how much nicer it is to cook on those grates. The cooking surface of the grates are phenomenal and I feel like I got a new grill! Here are some steaks I cooked recently.
Looks really good! I think that makes the Crafted Kitchen apparatus worthwhile. Nice to have a much larger space to cook on and not have to worry about getting those diamond pattern turns right!
