Another question about the Weber Chimney:
I recently started using lump that I get from Wallyworld. I use it mostly in my chimanea as it burns clean and hot with little residue. The problem I have it all of the little pieces of lump that fall thru the bottom grate in the chimney during the light-up process. What methods are out there to help with this problem.
Thanks

I just pick up the little bits that fall through and put them back on top. The larger pieces on the bottom will prevent the little ones from falling through.

Alternatively, you could use a small layer of briquettes on the bottom.

Well what I do is put the chimney on top of the loaded charcoal pan.
Load the chimney with the electric lighter buried
and lit er rip.
When the coals are ready all the drops are already in the charcoal pan.

Also have the double grate so all the little guys do not fall to the bottom during cooking.
As shown in the mods section of this site.

Jim,
Just be sure to keep an eye on the chimney when you do this. I once did it, got involved in something else and forgot... when I came back, the wooden handle on my charcoal chimney (not a Weber chimney) was completely burned away.
