Warming Rack Questions

I’d like to add a little bit of extra low-temperature cooking space to my Genny. I know that the swinging basket is gimmicky at best, so I’m really only considering options for the warming rack that slots into the back of the fire box. I’ve read that the 80633 flat rack gets in the way, owing to how low it sits above the cooking grates. Frankly, even before reading that, that’s the biggest reason why I haven’t gone that route already. I’m wondering if the 7641 (or, more specifically, a stainless substitute) for the Spirit 300 would fit my grill. Does anybody have any practical experience that might help me?

I use my 80633/7513 warming rack all the time and don't think it gets in the way unless something I'm trying to pull off the grill slides under it. The 7641 does seem to be an upgrade though if it fits. The specs suggest that it will, but I don't know from personal experience.

I like to use this rack because it can be used on both the gasser and the kettle.
That might be an option. Have you ever tried fitting that plus two half-size steam table pans on the gasser? One thing I like about the idea of the box-mounted rack is that I could definitely still fit two pans on the grill.

Bruce is right, my summit is 13 years old and the warming tray rusted out after just a few years. But I've had this stainless one for at least 5 years and it looks great.

I'm not sure about the room on your Genny, my summit is a 6 burner so I have plenty of room. But here is a 1/4 sheet pan under the rack on my summit. I really like it on the kettle when I'm doing hamburgers and hot dogs, burgers down low and dogs up top, works well.

The tape measure is 3 inches so it's about 16 up top and 17 below, just like the description.

I would go with that. It is stainless and that sells it in my book. Those other original ones all rust and corrode in no time.
Yeah, like I said up top - I’d go with one of the aftermarket stainless 7641 knockoffs if I were sure it was going to fit.
