Wanted: Left side lid cap for 2000-2002 Weber Gold/Platinum series

@Chris-NV If you decide you want one with the round SS handle, you'll need both end caps, and the handle.

I can keep my eyes open for one too, if that's the direction you want to go.

I'm way behind packing things up for shipping and have a lid that still needs to get sent.

Right on, thanks Dan!

Just for curiosity, have you called Weber to ask?
I did and they do not stock anything like this. However, they did send me a new lid with the temp guage... it's currently on the grill (you can see it in my avatar pic) and it looks out of place.

On most occasions, I'd say you're right but I'm sitting on way too much inventory at the moment (20+ by last count). I'd grab the lower rack, control panel, and maybe the side burner off this one depending upon it's condition and that would be it for me. It would still pain me greatly to toss the side tables and swing-up shelves but I've already got boxes of them taking up space, too. Could this mean that I'm finally breaking through the clutches of my Weberitis?
Do you have any right side swing up table and end piece for genesis silver B 02 model?

Oh, I think that lid looks really nice on that grill. It has to be the next best thing to the original. I still hope you find an original end cap if that's what you want though.

Thanks Steve... agreed that it is nice to have non-broken lid, but it's my OCD that can't get passed the black lid/green table colors. I suppose I could mount the original green into the new caps, but then there's no temp probe hole in the right cap. LOL, I imagine some might be tempted to drill a hole for a temp guage... the horror of that faux pas!

You could do just that, I think. The holder for the thermometer on your other lid is held on with a bolt. If you took it off you should be able to install it on the other end cap. You would just have to mark it and drill two holes. 20221115_221126.jpg

Oh, wow... I'm out of town, but will check on this when I return!!
I didn't think of it until you said you had gotten a replacement lid from Weber, which from the picture looked green to me and not black. It shouldn't be too much of a project and would look pretty much stock except for the handle.

@Chris-NV I think this discussion has found a solution for you. Your comment about the grill in your avatar and that it was a replacement lid.

you have two of the three pieces needed to put your green lid back in action.
You have the Left side end cap and the handle, but you do not have a RH side end cap that will hold a thermometer.

@Steve Hoch mentioned the thermometer holder can be unscrewed, but that is on the older x0000 and early Silver Bs. they stopped having a bolt on thermometer holder and started using a cast mount part of the end cap to hold the thermometer.

So what you need to make your green enamel lid work is a RH end cap with a cast thermometer.

Well, that kills my idea! I didn't know they had changed that. Thanks for clearing that up.

So I wanted to make sure I had this before I posted...

I just happen to have a right hand end cap, with a cast thermometer holder. It came from a 2002 Gold B and I busted the hinge off of the left side, so this one has been very close to being recycled a couple times but I keep thinking someone might need it some day.

@Chris-NV PM me when you get home if you want this. I shouldn't cost much to ship from Sac CA to Reno.

edit: the pic below is the exact model grill that this end cap came off of, though the cap above needs cleaning and some paint and it will look marvelous.

I've got a 2005 Gold lid...are the 2000-2002 lids different? Not part of this discussion, just curious.
