Wanted Ideas to use WSM in the rain

It is giving pretty steady partly cloudy here today, about half an inch of it so far. I got up at 5:30 am to start the WSM for a Pork Butt. So far it is still pretty steady "partly cloudy". Raining pretty steady. Looks like there is one cloud over us that is causing all the rain, so it may end in a couple hours.

Does anyone have any mods they use to keep rain off the WSM?

I would think in a gentle shower the heat of the WSM would evaporate the rain

I am going to just start it anyway and see what happens, I will put an umbrella over the charcoal in the lower section until I dump in the hot coals (if they start)

I may have to get one of those ( of course it would have to be the PATRIOTS

My wife may give me a hard time for a "fire" under a cover, but will look into it.

It is raining about to begin

Used a umbrella but it was a pain so used the OTG top, they it took a long time to get the coals started in the rain

Couple of zip ties hold this golf umbrella...

I just put mine under the entrance walk to the house, its covered or under a cover over our outdoor kitchen. The main reason I'm posting is I'm impressed with the dedication some of you have to get a cook done in inclement weather. Well done people!!

I put up my Dallas Cowboy blue EZ-Up and place the WSM in the middle. It rained everyday last week here.

I would like to get one of these but not being a sports fan, (knowing it is not a practical solution), I wish Chris were able to offer a tvwbb pop up. Nice idea but not economically feasible.

Just my twenty cents worth (inflation).

Well it came out ok, my boys really liked the pulled pork, the ribs and chicken are still on

I injected apple juice into the butts and rubbed it with brown sugar and garlic and pepper, forgot the salt but it tastes great

We get afternoon rain nearly every day at 3pm, I wish I had some cover in the meantime I do this
Dispite the rain your cook looks great

I use a 10 x 10 EZ-Up type canopy as well. With the side covers, it helps alot in the winter to minimize the wind gusts too.
