Wanna buy a Platinum...or 2?

I’ve got a pair of Platinum gassers that I picked up around the same time a couple of years ago and have just never gotten around to re-doing them. For whatever reason, it always seems like there’s another project ahead of them. Neither grill is prefect. The blue top has a small chip in the lid and the green top model has frame rot at the the left front corner joint. Other than that, both are pretty darn nice and 100% complete. No hard sales tactics from me...if anyone is interested, I’d take $150 for either one or $250 for both. The pics you see here are from the ads that I acquired them from. The grills are currently tarped and tied to protect them from the elements, so additional pics aren’t really an easy option at the moment.

At present, and with tongue firmly in cheek, this is the only current photo I have. If ambition strikes and the weather cooperates a bit, I’ll defrost things with the salamander this weekend and post some better pics.

You might be wise to post your location. Shipping the grills is pretty much out of the question unless you are willing to part them out.

No interest in a part out just yet. Ideally, I’d like to see them go complete and together to free up yard space in one fell swoop.
 
I wish we were closer. I especially love that green one, although I don't believe that hood and handle were original to that grill. I could be wrong. The Platinums you have are rare breed!

They are both Platinum II, Jon, (to me) the brawny Schwarzeneggers of the early Gennies. :giggle: @Jeff MA has restored a couple of them.

Genesis Platinum Series II Restoration started

The time has come to start the restoration of my 1996 Genesis Platinum Series II. I have my 4900 to keep me cooking so I have plenty of time to finish the job. It started life as this: In about 40 minutes I had it down to this- It came apart pretty easily as the Oversized Summit series...
