"vintage" Craftsman BBQ tools

Hello Everyone,
Any other gear heads have this set of BBQ tools? I really don't remember when I got them but prob like 25 years ago, maybe more. Pretty sure I had them when I had my first little Sunbeam glass-front grill. The spatula has gotten a fair amount of use, fork next, tongs least, and brush not at all (but it looks cool in the set). The spatula is starting to get a little stress cracking where the stem is welded on. But, as you can see in the photo, these were "not guaranteed forever" so I guess I can't bring it back for replacement :ROFLMAO:

I recall seeing them advertised, yet I don't remember when. It was a while ago. Prob 15+ years or more

I had that set it also came with a grate scraper thingy.

You know, I *thought* there was a scraper but I can't seem to find it. The only tools I had out were the spatula and the fork (because I used them). The others were in a "junk drawer" and I just now took them out for the photo. Now I'm gonna look around for the scraper. I never used it because I always had a brush.

I had not seen the Craftsman set before. It’s a great piece of Americana. I was gifted a Klein BBQ set like this from a manufacturer’s rep in the mid 90’s or so. The bottle opener is a workhorse that has served me well throughout the years. The fork and spatula were never used before eventually passing them along to a buddy who thought they were cool. Last I knew, all 3 of these pieces were still available for purchase new today.

Ha! I have a few Klein screwdrivers from the mid 90's and they have those exact handles. I have used them a LOT and they held up well. Nice
BBQ set, BTW...

I have seen the early Craftsmans but never in the store. Plus I may not have been into BBQ that much art the time.
But would love a set not.

Do the handles stink on the Craftsman set? I have a full set of their screwdrivers, and the handles smell like vomit.
Man, it's funny you should say that because I clearly remember my Dad's Craftsman screwdrivers having that smell too! The ones that I have bought for myself in the last 25 years or so do not have that smell so I forgot about it until you mentioned it.

I never noticed but then mine were always covered in fuel, oil. Or hydraulic fuild so I smelled that and after a few years all my tools smelled like aircraft fuilds.

I can tell ya it don't smell like any vinegar I've ever been around. I have an old set of Craftsmen nut drivers I bought when I began my apprenticeship, back in 69 after high school. To this day if I open the drawer they're in the smell nearly makes me wretch. Brings back "good times" :D
