Using bamboo as smokewood

Just want to let you guys know that I have been using bamboo as my smokewood with good taste success, a little fruity/sweetish.

Hickory and the other woods you guys use are not available in my country.

I am using large bamboo about 3-4 inches in diameter split into pieces.

Most fruit trees work well for smoking. Being in the Caribbean I'm sure you must have access to a fair amount of wood from the various fruit trees.
