using a dutch oven inside a WSM

Does anyone remove the water pan and use the WSM as a wind break / charcoal pan to cook with a dutch oven?

I have a bean recipe that takes about 8 hours to cook and the temperature holding properties of the WSM seem ideal for this. The WSM should be able to hold a decent size oven. What about the weight (30+ lbs)?
