I am in the process of moving to Indiana and living kind of on the road as we try to replace the house that fell through on the day before closing. We went to Indianapolis today and I got to check out Menards. Nice store! They had a limited selection of grills, but two pellet grill models were of interest:
1) Broil King. I posted a while back before the SmokeFire reveal, that while Weber was still thinking about it Broil King was out with their pellet grill. The advertisements conveyed a higher quality than the actual presentation. They only had the smaller model, but with a price close to that of an EX-4 SmokeFire it wasn't even close in my book in quality of construction. I like that they offer a rotisserie option which seems to fit with a pellet grill to me. But, the overall materials were pretty skimpy in my view:

On the other hand, they also had on display a pellet grill from Oklahoma Joe's. I understand that this name was once associated with very good offset burners but was bought out and cheapened substantially. So, I am not saying this grill is well built or will cook great. But for a bargain price, especially for its size ($499), it LOOKS a lot better than many competitors. Claims to have a searing option, too.
