I have been using the Goya Adobo seasoning with great success on grilled chickens. It has tumeric in it and I am thinking thats what gives it the new flavor I am enjoying.
I am going to cook some butts for tailgating this weekend and need to make some more rub. Would tumeric add anything good or bad to a rub like this? Also for the rubologists on here, any other suggestions?
I am starting with the BRITU base
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup non-iodized table salt
1/8 cup brown sugar, dried
4 teaspoons chili powder
2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 teaspoon ancho chili powder
1 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground
1 teaspoon granulated garlic
1 teaspoon onion powder
I sub the ancho for the cayenne. Would tumeric work in this? and in what qty? Was thinking of going with some herbs as well (thyme).
