Has anyone else noticed several broken briquettes in the Trader Joe's branded bags of Rancher? Far more than I experienced in the Rancher branded bags.
 
Went through a couple of bags in recent weeks that were purchased around Memorial Day. Didn't see much in the way of broken briquettes. Hmmm... maybe I'm confusing some of my Rancher's bags w/ the TJ ones..... It'll probably another month before I get to smoke again. Hopefully someone else will chime in before then.
 
wonder if its the way its handled cuz i had a bag of rancher once that had more broken pieces than normal. not a biggy but i do remember that.
 
I agree with you Larry,
Noticed alot of broken material in the last thee bags. I also don't get to use the leftover pieces after a cook because they tend to crumble down to small bits. I don't like to waste it. It also tends to cook pretty hot and fast for me.
 
You guys might of got a couple of bags from the bottom of the pallet.
That should show some abuse, along with how they stock it in the store..

Agree with Tim. I've been using TJ's this season since they got it and have seen virtually no broken pieces.
 
I agree with Tim and Dave. I've gone through several bags of TJ's since May and haven't noticed broken pieces.
