Dear Board,

I'm doing a boneless turkey breast on the OTG. Here it is setting and waiting to get cooked.



I already have a batch of my never the same way twice potato salad made and chilling in the fridge. I'll add pictures until everything is done.

Moving right along. I used chunks of apple wood and came to find out later that I shouldn't have soaked them. They seem to not mind much so I'm continuing as planned.



There will be more.

Dear Board,

So here is the OTG, chugging right along just like it's supposed to do. I think going forward I'll always soak the chunks, they last much longer and the wet wood has no effect at all on the overall temperature of the grill.



Here is my famous potato salad in an old bowl that is equally famous. It was my Mom's, but before that it was my Nana's. I remember eating stuff out of it as a kid. Yeah, it's dorky to reminisce about a bowl, but I'm a sentimental old dork so forgive me.



And here is everything plated. Nothing fancy but good grub nonetheless.



I always enjoyed cooking outside over either charcoal or gas. I always made do and produced stuff worth eating. I never knew how good I could cook until I treated myself to an OTG and a Genesis. I'm not bragging when I say that I am in another league now. Good gear really helps!

Tim - having a third generation bowl in the family is a source of pride for us: Cindy has a bowl her grandmother made bread in as well. Nothing dorky... Turkey breast looks great!
 
That Turkey looks superb Tim and so does the plate with that gorgeous salad. Dude, love the bowl, my home is filled with memories like that. Very special and thanks for sharing
