Other than the famous Weber porcelain enamel, I was disappointed in the styling. The shape looks like every other pellet grill (squished 55 gal. drum). The non-adjustable vents on the back. And there is a LOT of BLACK. Perhaps they can spruce up the design by doing something with the end caps, legs, or the non-shelf that holds the ash/grease drawer to make it not have so much black.I think maybe an attempt to rally sales at a crucial time. Profit margin has to be pretty slim, especially with all the replacement parts, customer service overtime, etc. But Weber just can't afford to lose out in this market. For a lot of people it is the next wave in grilling.
I look for a "II" or maybe "LX" version next year incorporating all the patches and maybe a few other tweaks and mild styling changes. I actually think they did it right as far as how the grill looks, but if I am right they will have to do something to make it look "new."
Can't argue with the food TVWBBers are turning out with it though. Ver. 2.0, whenever it comes will be difficult to resist. Of course, now that Weber has done away with the wall-to-wall grease pan, expect other manufactures to do the same, and perhaps better.
