This is how Ed C. and I do it.

I broke my toe somehow in the process. It's a real dark blue and two times it's normal size, but heck that's what I get for showboating. My new slogan for the year is "DON'T DRINK AND DIVE"

Ed,

I am sorry to laugh at your expense, but that is funny!!!! I have all kinds of images runnng through my head. If it is any consolation to ya I have not been able to walk since March after my herculean attempt to hop over the living room sofa, and sadly there was no alcohol involved to explain away any momentary laps of judgment.

Q'n, Golf'n & Grill'n.... too many choices!
Gary

Heck it ain't a party till someone does something stupid...LOL

I can laugh at myself now, as it was pretty darn funny, a little painful, but funny. It's one of those things that you look back at and say to yourself "you're not a kid anymore, so quit acting like one", but then you throw in the alcohol, and poof you're a kid again for a brief moment. Then you wake up the next day and really feel the years adding up.
Now I have to figure out how to fix the diving board so I can do this all over again.

I will go ahead an apologize for this....but someone has to ask....can we have a pic of the diving board.

Believe me - I'm more jealous than it is funny. If I could afford the plane ticket, I would join you two for a party so I could say I have experienced an "Ed and L Party" and lived to tell about it!

The board itself did not break, the bolts that hold it down in the back snapped and the whole board came off it's platform, so I really don't have any pictures of it other than the one that is etched in my little mind.

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">other than the one that is etched in my little mind. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
I just remember the sound of the board snapping off and then the rush of everyone to the pool to make sure Ed was OK and a friends son fishing it out of the pool. Happened pretty fast, I think Ed was attempting a TRIPLE LINDY. He actually did a specialty "butt" dive earlier in the day, perfect form, I scored it a "10." What a crazy day/evening yesterday. Let's do it all over again!!!

Hey Bryan S...if I start saving my pennies now we could join them for a party...see if the 'east' coast could hang with 'west coast kinda thing...maybe name it the "West-East Cheap Beer BBQ Festival"
icon_biggrin.gif

Deal?

I'm thinking we could hitch a ride with K Kruger on one of his runs out to the left coast.
icon_biggrin.gif
He goes through GA alot so all I would need to do is get down to where you live.
icon_wink.gif
Sounds like a plan.

No problem guys, but a word of warning, we don't sell Falstaff out here anymore, so we'll have to find an other cheap beer to buy. LOL

What - no Milwaukee's Best Light? Or PBR
icon_rolleyes.gif

I drink Mich Ultra or Coors Light which is pretty much in line with ML so just let us know when the board is fixed!

I don't know if I pulled that particular dive off, but it was pretty close, I do remember my butt bouncing off the bottom of the pool in an attempt to avoid the wrath of that diving board though.

Wayne, those are my choice of beers as well. I keep the patio fridge stocked with Coors Light at all times, so if you're coming we got the beer covered.

Falstaff was brewed out here many years ago, and I remember my dad would buy it by the case, which was 24/10 oz bottles. He bought it because he knew my brother and I wouldn't drink it. If you have ever had any Shafer beer, it's similar to that but only worse.

Ed, drank alot of Shafer as a kid. It used to be brewed near Allentown PA but not sure if it still is. Schmidt's brewed in Philly (long gone now), not the midwest one (IIRC that was just Schmidt)) was another popular young kid cheap beer here in PA.

To be fair I don't really care what others drink. I've also drank my share of ML, Bud, etc over the years and I've certainly never turned one down if offered. Doesn't mean I'll stop offering up some better suggestions though.

That I'll chalk up to 4 years stationed in Germany at an impressionable age.
