Thermometer

I purchased a rather inexpensive thermometer today and installed it on my 18.5 weber. (drilled hole and screwed in) My question is it is all fogged up so it is hard to read the dial unless i am looking for and angle. Can i break that glass on the outside or will that ruin the thermometer.

Most times it ruins the therm, if not immediately then eventually.

You're at the point where you have to ask what difference does it make. You can't read it anyway so you'll be no worse off if it does ruin it. You might want to look into a better thermometer. There are some Tel-tru thermometers that don't cost a fortune.
This one isn't too bad.
