Is this the latest and greatest that the cool people are using? I was just complaining about our temp pen last night, no idea how old it is, but it takes about 20 seconds to steady out on the temp.

I love my thermoPop that Chris linked above, I would love to get a ThermaPen Mk4, but where the cost and quality meet at the TheroPop was the right choice for me. Here is a resent thread that went into this topic in some good depth.

What instant read thermometer do you have?

So I'm looking at getting an instant read thermometer. I really want one that is really fast, accurate, and waterproof. What do you guys recommend? This is the one I was thinking about getting but I don't know if I really want to spend that much...

If you're looking for a less expensive instant-read thermometer in the ThermoWorks family, consider going with the Classic Thermapen or the ThermoPop. Other folks like the ThermoPro TP19 or Inkbird IHT-1P or Lavatools Javelin PRO Duo.

Can confirm. The TP19 is a solid piece especially considering its price point. Recently pulled the trigger on the discounted Mk4.
