Has anyone tried this out?

I keep seeing it used on Project Smoke. I like the idea of hanging meat. Has anyone adapted this method to their Weber smokers?
 
weber sells a hanging rack for the wsm. Works just fine.

I do PBC-style cooks using the rack Len cited (above) from time to time. I especially like chicken halves hung over direct flame.
 
It would be interesting if Weber offered the hanging rack for the 14.5 WSM as well.

Maybe. But not having seen a 14" in person, I would guess no. The reason being unless you're smoking mini "something's", there wouldn't be enough vertical space to prevent the bottom "something's" from turning into little briquets.
 
I have hung meat in 18.5,when I had it and in my Weber mini cooing PBC style. I now have the PBC and the food off the webers were just as good.
