This issue came up recently in another post in this forum, and I thought it should have its own posting.
In short, the small front panel on all 1000s which sits under the control panel and is held on by two plastic clips frequently falls off, and many become missing.
There is a genuine Weber part which was designed to fit early (00-01) Silver B models which will bolt on to a 1000 without modification of it or the grill, and gives a more attractive (?) finished look, covering the manifold not only in the front but on the end and on the back side, and replacing the original panel.
It was originally covered by me in the posting https://tvwbb.com/threads/missing-front-panel-on-spirit-700.91216/#post-1040193, for use on my original Spirit 700, but little reference was made to its application on the 1000.
The Weber part number is 90202, and it is long NLA on the usual sites.
