The Big Weekend and NO Charcoal Talk?

Hey guys what gives this is the best weekend to buy Charcoal and no one has stories? I purchased my fist six bags buy one get one Kingsford 20lb bags $7.97. I know Lowes and Home Depot have their big sales this weekend starting today. Time to stock up!

I bought 600lbs at HD this morning at 630am. only bought 400 at first and then I saw I could fit 5 more bags in the wifes envoy and went back for another 200lbs

Yup, picked up a couple hundred pounds of charcoal today at HD. They had plenty of pallets of the stuff, on hand, at my local HD. I always stock up, around this time.

I did not want to overstock so I only bought 12 twin paks. That will last me through the next big charcoal sale which will happen during the Fourth of July holiday. I will then buy just enough to last me through the next big sale which comes up on Labor Day. Labor Day sale is when I really stock up because that purchace should last me though the next big sale which comes up on and around Easter. During Easter I'll buy just enough to last me through Memorial Day. And the whole cycle repeats itself, year after year.....

Man, you gotta love Walmart. I go in for their 2-pack and what do I find? Not only the 16.8 lb 2-pack for $7.50, but also a 13.9 lb 2-pack for $10.42! And if I wanted to get a really special price, prominently displayed all over the store were single 16.8 lb bags for $7.48 apiece!

Betcha can't guess what I bought...

I'm heading there now for some RO lump. $6.37 for 10 lbs which is good because around here lump is very hard to come by. I picked up 9 bags a few days ago. Hope they have some left. Lump's not popular around here so there's usually not much on the shelves.

I feel like such an amateur! I only have (4) 20-pound bags of lump stashed in my garage.

Then again, my local store always has it in stock at a reasonable price, and I do not do comps or catering - so I really have no big reason to stock-up like that.

I'm going to swing by HD today after work and pick up a couple of twin packs. I'm still hoping/holding out for Lowes to put Stubbs on sale for Father's Day, but this is too good the pass up.

At this price, I couldnt pass it up. I have a chargriller that is a fuel hog and 22WSM that a 20lb fits perfect for a cook. I think last year I bought 4 twins and that lasted maybe a month. I tore my quadriceps off of both legs this march in a powerlifting accident so my deadlift platform is now a Kingsford mountain.

I just picked up 80 lbs of K blue, which should be more than enough to last me thru the 4th. Hopefully, Stubbs will go on sale so I can really stock up!
