Then I realized the much less exciting truth. Sounds like a good idea. I'll put some canned biscuits on my list and try that test.

Biscuits flipped so you see how done they were. This was after a thorough preheat on high.

Looks hotter along the front, rear next, and then the middle.

And I conclude that baking biscuits on a hot grate is suboptimal.
