Sweet Grilled Beets

This is a real treat. Just grill thick sliced fresh beets like any meat. They are sweet.

We like beets and I've grilled them before. We enjoy them as a side however, not a meat substitute.

Generally I will scrub them and depending on size, halve or 1/4 them, toss with olive oil salt and pepper and roast. It’s a really nice side. My wife’s son and I have been known to indulge ourselves on those! Salad turnips are another treat don’t the same way, I have been known to finish those off with a little butter! Amazing!

I loooooove grilled beets. They are terrific on burgers, and on the side with steaks. A warm beet and blue cheese salad is hard to beat.

Last week we grilled yellow organic beets-Kroger has only organic beets. The yellow beets seemed to be mellower than red beets. All are good grilled.
