Sweet Brisket Rub

I've been using a standard rub that includes paprika, chili powered, kosher salt, onion powder, garlic powder and light brown sugar. While we all like it very much I would like to find a recipe that is a little less strong and on the sweet side.

I could use BBQ sauce but then it wouldn't be genuine BBQ brisket.

Perhaps just take the rub you like and add additional sugar. You will be hard pressed to to find a beef rub designed to be real sweet. Lots of pork rubs out there and and here that are sweet that you could always use.

Elliot, you might try our esteemed Jim Minion's rub in THIS THREAD. Kevin Kruger has some good comments about variations too.

Jim calls for sugar. You might try subbing turbinado sugar (Sugar in the Raw, in grocery stores) which has a higher heat tolerance.
