Sunday Plans

Bill Berg

TVWBB Fan
I'll be getting out of bed early Sunday to brew a batch of beer. While the beer is brewing I figure I'll throw a couple racks of BBs on the WSM. About the time I'm done brewing and cleaned up, the ribs should be done. I'll put some beans on and fry up some taters for sides.

Then it's off to the local dirt track for some "car fights".

I'll post pics tomoorrow.

Bill,

I'll be doing two out of the three you are doing tomorrow. I'd be brewing, but we have company coming. Then we are off to the midgets as well.

You should do the BBQ competition next year, if they have it again at Linde Field. Did you recently purchase your WSM? I guess I hadn't noticed your posts before.

I graduated high school with your wife. Small world.

Bill, what type are you brewing?

I bought all the equiptment to start kegging, instead of bottling. I just haven't picked up a tank yet. This climate here is perfect for lagers. I have mainly stuck to ales in the past.

I need to fire up a batch, I haven't brewed in over a year now.

Heh, yup small world!

Yeah, I bought my WSM after the DeForest competition. Walking around the competitors was just what I needed to spring for one. I'm going to practice up and maybe do that contest next year.

Maybe I'll see you at the races. You know where I stand don't you? Stop by and say hi.

Oh, and the wife is next to me and says hi.

I'll be doing a blonde ale. It's a nice lawnmower beer. Dude, dust that stuff off and get brewing. Nothing better than pork smoking and beer brewing.

I hear you. Just need to keep the excess beer away. There's nothing like having 10 gallons of beer sitting around, to get you drinking more than planned, just to keep it from spoiling.

I only have one fridge, and it would be a pain trying to fit more than one keg in there.

I guess I just need to make more friends in this town. I move too often.

i guess I have the opposite problem I have a keggerator that holds 9- kegs. And another fridge that I can squeak 5- kegs into. I'm down to "only" 4- right now. I supplied beer for a party a week ago that made quite a dent in my inventory. Time to get brewing and smoking.

I’m cooking a pork butt. I trimmed it and injected it with balsamic vinegar and apple juice then put it in a gallon zip lock with mustard and garlic. The beans are soaking and will go on the smoker tomorrow. I’ll fill in the blank spots with bacon for BLT’s to eat next week.

BLT’s with home-grown tomatoes and smoked bacon... Man, I can’t wait for this.

MY plan, well it was to cook up a small packer (8.01 lbs.) I picked up at Super Wally World last Sunday moring. Sunday morning is a great time to be out on the bike. Seems everyone is in church or still in bed. No cars pulling out in front of me.

Well anywho, the beer is going down like water so... Not really sure how this is going to all play out today. I need something for lunches next week, so I gotta cook something when I wake up. I also have a roll of Bob Evans Maple Sausage in the fridge to make a fattie. But I got the tunes cranked (Kid Rock "Cocky") and I'm still thristy. I'll let you know how it all turned out. Where's my internet drinking Buddies Wayne and Larry at?
All my homebrew stuff is collecting dust these days. My back just can't take that anymore.

My Sunday plans are to nurse this killer hangover I'm working on with some homemade bloody mary's and smoke 3 racks of BBs and big old fatty. I'm "baching" it so I'll eat a rack and probably vac. seal the rest.

Bryan, I'm drinking tonight, listening to Journey Live, working on my second bottle of wine . . . after my customary handful of Miller Lites of course

Check out tonights COOK, I did the Worchestershire compound butter, KILLER!!!! I know how you like you're butter.

Larry I envey you. I have to work sunday (no emote justifys it) I'm slamming a few coors 16's while my wife is out partying (yet again not emote) BUT atleast I'm smoking something for Sunday. This will be the first smoke I've put on for work peoples. Couple butts, apple and hickory, should be interesting seeing their faces when they dig in

Hi internet drinking Buddy. Pics of the food look great, yeah we'll blame it on the camera, works for me.

I'm going to regret this when I wake up. I really need to make that brisket so I have some sammie meat for the week. I made some horseradish slaw earlier tonight after my pork chop cook. I'll be here for awhile yet, cause the Kid is screaming in my face right now.

Yeah, me and butter are like me and beer. I really want to make that woosty butter one of these days.

Now it's time to get the WSM set up.

More pics to follow.

I put a couple of 7lb butts on last night around 10:30. For whatever reason, it took forever to come up to temp but I finally got to bed about 1am. In the middle of the night, a big storm came through and I noticed my temp was down to 185. I let it go for a while and after the rain stopped, it was back in the 215 range. It still cruising along although the meat temp is stuck around 182. I did just add some more fuel so let's see if that gets it going. I'll try and do some pics later.
