stubbs charcoal


 
I use it and like it. Its a bit hard to find good lump charcoal around here in the winter so I picked up a bag of Stubbs at Lowes 2 months ago. They carry it all year long. I pay $8.69 for a 15lb bag.
Starts and burns clean. Not a large amount of ash. I am going to use it all winter at least.
 
been though a couple of bags.
might be a bit pricier than K, but it's all natural, and more uniform than straight lump.
i'm loving it, which means it should be discontinued anytime now.....
i have that kind of luck......
 
I see it at B'Lowes too but have never tried it. I switch back and forth between Kingsford and Cowboy lump. I think I may stick with lump, less ash to deal with and no dusting on the food. How is Stubbs as far as ashing?
 
I use it when I can't get lump. I really like it, it is a little more $$ than k but the less ash makes it worth it to me, (though it will have more ash than lump)
