Storing Wood

Ok one more ? while i'm online here...

I bought 40# each of apple and pecan chunks. Thus far I have stored them in my garage in rubbermade bins (uncovered) and have had a problem with mold as my garage is old and not the driest place. Last night i moved them to my crawl space in hopes of a drier environment.

Any suggestions as to a good way to store chunks?

Thanks as always- B

I'd suspect your bins are not providing enough air flow.

Dry the chunks in the sun and then put them back into the bins with the lid on.

The lid should help keep little critters out too.

Travis, I'm confused by your answer, if storing his chunks in the bin uncovered isn't providing enough air flow, how is putting the lid on the bin going to help?

Laundry baskets from the dollar store.

Sweet setup Scooter! Unfortunately, down here in Atlanta, the summer months are tough on humidity and I need as much airflow as i can get.

Timothy I like that laundry basket idea... might work better down here.

Thanks All!
