Storing Spices Question

Having never found Chinese Five Spice nor herbs de Provence in any stores in these parts, I finally resorted to Amazon. I bought a pound of herbs de Provence. It came in a sealed foiled pouch. I'm certain that I shall not use this amount any time soon; so the question of how to store it arises.

I'm thinking about putting some in a jar with a tight lid and dividing the rest into sealed pouches - maybe 4 or 5 of them - and storing those in the freezer.

I would appreciate comments on the wisdom or folly of this plan. The Chinese 5 spice will - I think - be OK; but what do I know?

vacuum-pack the pouches and freeze'em...

I like Penzeys Spices, they have just about everything..

yeah, five spice is very easy to make too, it's just equal parts of cinnamon star anise fennel schezuan pepper and cloves.
