Stoker json support

I am a little confused by the Stoker firmware release dates/versions. Is there an official release that supports json or do I have to use a beta release?

If I have to go to a beta version, any suggestions on a stable version?

My stoker came with 2.6.0.254 and it supports the JSON request. It is quite slow though

The May 2011 beta release (2.7.0.8)is much faster.
