Stainless axle for Genesis grill

This just arrived and will make 3 axles with a couple of inches left over.
Hank, have you ever tried putting one of the old ones in your drill and using sandpaper to clean them up? I've done it a few times and they look better than new when done. I also spray them with clear coat paint to keep them nice longer.

Two axles installed, using the following clips:
I would post pix but you can't see them very well behind the RH folding tables
Oh well, I know they are there anyway....
;)

Anyone have an extra axle/material for one? Not trying to pay as much as I’m seeing online for replacements.

Tried to clean up the original but it looks terrible.

Put the rod in a drill, wrap some sand paper around it and let the drill do the work. Just work the sandpaper up and down the rod as you spin it. Then you can clear coat it if you like to prevent rust.

I put an aluminum one on my performer. Seems to be holding up just fine.

Otherwise you can put it in your drill and sand it down and paint it. Really quick and easy.

I also just paint it in the drill. Then when it’s dry just spray the side that was in the chuck.
