SSP Restorations

Here are a few Performers I resto'd over the winter.
The red and 1 of the blues were actually sitting on the
curbs waiting for the trash collector. Thanks to a couple
of different friends with eagle eyes that knew I could
work a little magic with them, they were spared from
the landfill. It' always good to find a great deal on a
grill, but nothing equals the satisfaction of knowing I
prevented one from the going to the dump, while
living in our wasteful use it, and dispose of it society.

They will all likely end up heading to new homes in very near future ....
all though that red will fit in nicely with my red collection .....
but either way I at least have a couple of pics to remember them by.

Very nice. Saving stuff was why my wife and I got into restoring grills, sofas and anything else that can be saved. You did an outstanding job. I wish you had some before pics for fun. I think we Americans are probably the most wasteful bunch on the planet. I think it is because stuff is so much more expensive everywhere else. I hate to say it but maybe if we had a Value added Tax (VAT) it would discourage people from being so wasteful. Just think of all the ones we don't see that do wind up in the dump.

You do good work Dave, those SSP's look really nice! How do you find buyers, or do they find you?

Wow. I'd almost rather find a free SSP than win the lottery..... almost.... lol. But, those are beautiful. Just looking at the pictures I turned into Sméagol and wanted to steal all 3 of those for my very own. lol

Those are all stunning. I want the red one😎! How are you able to find so many 5lb tanks that work?

I don't recall every having one that didn't. It was a bit of chore initially a few years ago,
tying to find someone to recertify, but I found a local place. $12 to recertify, and fill.

Nice restores on those. The freebies are always the best ones to bring back to life.
Wish they did tank recertification in my area....they no longer do that in North Georgia, at least at any of the places I've tried.
