Spray Paint - What did I do wrong?

I usually don’t have an issue spray painting.

Yesterday I put a first coat on this grill inside my garage.

This morning I did my normal second coat inside the garage.
Except that within just a minute or two later I noticed it all has this texturing in some spots.

What causes this? And can I salvage this somehow?

Usually wrinkling is from too heavy of coats. What kind of paint is it? What is that on? Does it appear to have lifted the previous coat?

Something contaminated it. Either 2 incompatible paints or some type of contamination

It’s the Rustoleum Massey Ferguson Gray enamel that most everyone here uses as a color match. I’ve used it many times before.

Maybe I was spraying too close.

Can it be fixed with another coat?

No. You’ll have to sand it off when it’s good and dried. Larry may also be correct about contamination.

I would suspect the first coat didn't bond properly either from an unclean surface or lack of primer.
