The Coca-Cola Weber grill in the Trading Post had me thinking. I know Weber does come out with special edition grills, Coca-Cola, Heineken, Samuel Adams, Labatt, Simpsons, etc., but is there anyway to tell they are really legit? Do they come with a certificate of authenticity from Weber? Some of these grills can command a high dollar and who says those that are less than honest can't buy a certain color grill, some stencils, and create their own special edition and call it a Weber special edition?

At least on the ones I've seen, the logos are not stenciled on (in other words, not painted over the existing finish), rather they are applied prior to firing and "baked" into the porcelain enamel finish. Thus, you can only determine this by examining the logo in-person. I don't believe there's any such thing as a certificate of authenticity.

Regards,
Chris
