SP-E-335 (LP) - Fuel Gauge?

So I got a good deal on one of these at BBQGUYS, on sale $200 off plus I found an additional $50 coupon.

After ordering I saw a few complaints in the comments on their site that the fuel gauge was eliminated.

I've seen some other pictures and videos where it is clearly present.

Have they changed the model from year to year and this might now be true? Sounds like a big misstep if so.

Are those the digital ones? Curious how accurate they are.
No, they are pretty much the same as the old ones. They aren't super accurate, never were, but better than nothing. A note about the ones that came on the Genesis 1-5000 series is that they can be greased and adjusted for better accuracy.

If they are like the ones on the older Summit grills, they are no better than a regular Genesis grill.

Yes. I did just that back when I used LP. I took a totally empty tank and hung it. Then set the pointer (after lubing the scale) to empty. Worked like a champ and was really quite reliable

Yes Sir, that's exactly how it's done and it does make a difference in it's accuracy.

I have yet to refurbish an old tank scale. I assume they’re pretty simple and straight forward?

Sad but true. You can try complaining to Weber about it and they may send you one.
I wonder how easy it is to retrofit that in if I purchased the part separately. Or one of the other aftermarket options like this:

Please post a pic or link to the grill you are getting so we can see the starting point
