Hello all -

Does anyone have a line on a good source of wood chunks in the Cincinnati area? Specifically looking for apple, perhaps some cherry.

Thanks in advance!

Guys - Give your local Do-It Best hardware store a try. Who knew?!?

I found chunks of apple and cherry in poly bags at McCabe's (I-275 and Montgomery Road, near Bethesda North). They didn't have much apple left (maybe one more bag?), but seemed to have a good amount of cherry. Also have the requisite hickory and mesquite.

TonyZ,

The McCabe's you mentioned is the only place I've seen the apple/cherry chunks around here.

You've probably seen the chips at Kroger, Meijer, Bass Pro, etc.

You could ask the folks at Rousters Apple Orchard for some trimmings.

My best luck has come from asking folks at work. That landed me an entire car-trunk full of cherry logs/splits. I then split them and chopped them into chucks with a miter saw.

Every August I go to a family apple orchard in Michigan and usually score several apple logs. I'll be happy to grab a few extras for you if I can.
