Some say I'm certifiable, but this says I'm certified

Not exactly cooking, I know, but I took the KCBS judging class back in October and received the envelope with my certificate and badge over the weekend. Looking forward to judging a few comps just to see how others cook and hopefully this will help my competition cooks in the future.

Welcome to the club, Jim. The main reason I became a certified judge was to get insight on how the food is judged so our team could hopefully do better in competitions. It has definitely improved our turn-ins and scores. But I'm also looking forward to judging some competitions to see other's food and just eat some good barbecue. Congratulations and good luck!

Congratulations! Nothing better than having more CBJs around. We're lucking in Indiana in that we have 100% CBJ comps but I know some areas are struggling. I hope you get to cook with a team also to see our side of it if you haven't already.

I've been cooking with three different teams, as well as by myself over the past three years and I thought I'd have a look at comps from the judging side of things. Our comps here in TN are a mixed bag of CBJ's and non-certified judges, with most comps having a significant majority of certified judges.

It should be fun and a chance to reevaluate my turn-ins and eat some hopefully good 'que at the same time.
