Some more pics of new "toy"

So as many who may have seen it in the gas grill thread I recently acquired a new toy. A Kubota G2160 Diesel tractor. As noted there I had indicated I would post progress on it in a more appropriate thread. So here it is. Yesterday my very good friend came by to see it and give me a hand getting that giant mower deck out from under it. I have never owned a machine with a shaft driven mower, or of this size and magnitude LOL. Tons of servicing to do, filters and fluids to change, grease fittings to hit. So far in grease fittings alone without looking too hard I have seen about 10. Looking forward to having the machine done and in service soon

Larry - you know I'm a Kubota fan. If I had a bigger lawn I'd be shopping for something like that. I hope you enjoy that mower - it looks awesome. I imagine the grease zerts can be hit once a year or so so that's not a big deal but remembering where they are is really the trick. But like you, I'd want to hit them all now before you start using the more.

You may want to keep a spare belt for the mower deck too. I'm sure a new belt will last for a good long time but if that sucker breaks when you're lawn is half-way mowed that can be frustrating (happened to me at least once). The belts might be "special order" too, and take a few days to get once you order it. I don't see a cup holder on that beast.... you may want to install one ;)

Luckily John that belt looks like it was recently replaced when the PO had the deck rebuilt. Blades are VERY sharp and surprisingly not dinged or nicked up. But blades are pretty cheap. Actually thinking about getting a set of mulching blades for it. Very cheap only about $60 for the whole set. I can also find factory OEM brand new blades for it for only $50 the entire set. I also have to do some other work like adjust the pedal and linkage that controls the transmission. It's supposed to go to neutral position if you remove your foot and mine simply keeps going. So I am sure cleaning, lube and adjustments are in order.
Rich it's only 0-9 mph LOL but it is quick!

My old neighbor had this tractor and it served him very well and still does, it was also abit quieter than most lawn tractors and with a 60 inch deck can make a acre of grass get short fast.

That is a great find Larry and should serve you well for many of years. I am also an old garden tractor guy but sadly I do not have enough lawn to mow for a garden tractor.

I have always been wanting one of these. But the deal is with my Capo de Capo is I have to get this one rolling FAST and get the Honda sold. Nothing wrong with the Honda. Sweet little machine but parts are becoming scarce and expen$ive. I would like to put new blades on it............$300+ a set! New blades for this big beast Kubota $50. Of course I have the unit jacked up, wheels off and while under it servicing the transmission I see the cooling fan for the hydro with a blade broken off. Started looking for new one. $60 + shipping until I stumbled onto Kubota of Omaha. $6.00 + $4.00 shipping! Bam order in!
